An LA County sheriff’s sergeant in Lancaster has died after being shot. Sheriff’s Executive Officer Neal Tyler says 53-year-old Steve Owen was responding to a robbery call midday Wednesday near Antelope Valley College.

Owen died a few hours later. The suspect was tracked to a home in Lancaster and surrendered when surrounded by a SWAT team.
