Bakersfield police are now partnered with the Nextdoor social media site.The partnership provides BPD access to all the local neighborhoods pages set up at Nextdoor.com. 82 percent of Bakersfield is covered with information sharing pages that can only be accessed by people within the neighborhood. The Sheriff’s office partnered with the site earlier this year. Residents of a neighborhood can network with others in the area but cannot connect to Nextdoor pages outside their established area. Law enforcement can go to all pages to monitor and communicate.
