Supervisors balked at passing a resolution in support of the Tejon Tribe’s establishment of a headquarters at the old Meridian School south of Bakersfield. Members voted Tuesday to put off the resolution for a month, feeling uncertain about dealing with an Indian tribe because it’s sovereign nation status. There are also questions about fire and police protection.
