A parking lot full of chalk art is about to get washed away at the Marketplace.The annual Via Arte was held over the weekend with cash prizes being awarded to the top works in each category. Some artists say they worked more than fifty hours on their masterpieces only to have the hosed away after the event. Via Arte is put on by the Bakersfield Museum of Art and has been a local fixture since 1998.
