ROSAMOND WOMAN GETS A YEAR FOR MOTHER’S DEATH

A Rosamond woman who pleaded no contest to elder abuse in connection with her mother’s death will be spending up to one year in county jail.

Deputies say Shelly Freeman kept her mother, Carmen, in an unsanitary home on Panorama Lane west of Highway 14 before the woman died last year. Freeman will also have to go to counseling when she gets out.
