One man is in custody and police are looking for another after a gun was fired at police during a traffic stop on Mint Street in south Bakersfield.

Police say it happened around 8:30 Wednesday night near South Chester Avenue when a passenger jumped out of a car holding two semi-automatic handguns. 28-year-old Taj Carter of Bakersfield was arrested while the car got away.

No one was hurt, and it’s unclear if the gun was fired intentionally.
