Former Bakersfield Police detective Patrick Mara has been sentenced to five years in federal prison and five years probation for trafficking stolen meth. The sentence is similar to the one his former partner, Damacio Diaz, got last month.

Mara took issue outside the court in Fresno with Diaz, disputing that corruption is rampant in the BPD and saying that no one else knew what they were doing.

Mara will report to prison on December 2nd, the same day Diaz does.
