The Kern River Ranger District has broken ground on their new offices and warehouse in Kernville. Tuesday’s ceremony for the $8.5 million project is the latest step in the seismic retrofitting of the Lake Isabella Dam as the ranger station has to be moved due to new spillway construction. The new 5,500 sq. ft. offices should open next year.
