The Kern High School District has yet another acting police chief. Ed Komin replaces David Edminston Friday as he has been placed on administrative leave. Chief Joe Lopeteuy has been on what the district calls self-imposed leave since reporting misuse of a police database by district employees. Lopeteguy is suing the district and there’s no word on why the interim was replaced.
