MAYOR RACE GETS NASTY

The Kern County Republican Party has sent a cease and desist letter to Kyle Carter. Party Chairman Dean Haddock sent the letter Monday after getting word from several members of a robocall from the Carter campaign: “Hi, my name is Ben. I’m calling on behalf of the Republican Party concerning the mayor’s race to let you know that Karen Goh supports Obama Care. She has signed up hundreds of welfare recipients for Obama Care at her non profit Garden Pathways. Please join republican leaders in voting for republican Kyle Carter as Bakersfield’s next Mayor. This message is paid for by Kyle Carter for Mayor 2016.” Carter responded by saying his campaign has not used language suggesting a party endorsement but he has endorsements of many party members and leaders. Both Carter and opponent Karen Goh are registered Republicans running for the non-partisan mayor position.
