Kern County Fire responded to a grass fire east of Lake Isabella in the community of Onyx. Tuesday afternoon’s fire was being driven by winds and moving towards structures when about thirty firefighters took an aggressive attack to protect the buildings. After a couple hours, the fire was contained and had burned only about a quarter of an acre.
