Kern County’s Superintendent of Schools has announced she’s retiring. Christine Lizardi Frazier informed the Board of Education Tuesday she’ll leave at the end of January and Associate Superintendent Mary Barlow is being recommended to fill in until the position is up for election in 2018. Frazier says she wants to spend time with her grandchildren.
