A man who pleaded no contest to reckless driving for hitting a woman with his car in central Bakersfield has been sentenced to three years probation. Police believe 54-year-old James Tate was on drugs when he struck a pedestrian on South King and East 10th streets in August, something Tate denies. The woman had moderate injuries.
