The growth in renewables was the main topic at the sold out Kern Energy Summit.Speakers at Wednesday’s event in Bakersfield said an expanding market has many former oilfield workers thinking of making the jump into wind and solar companies.

Kern County gets 11-thousand megawatts from renewable energy each year with most of that coming from projects in the eastern half of the county.
