ADAKC OPENS NEW BUILDING

The Alzheimer’s Disease Association of Kern County has opened its new home in southwest Bakersfield.

Spokeswoman Terri Agacaoili says the 12,000 square foot, 100 bed treatment center at Buena Vista Road south of White Lane lets them care for more people than ever before. They also have space to offer services to caregivers. Agacaoili says they still need about $800-thousand to pay off the $3.5-million project.

An estimated 11,000 people in Kern County have some form of Alzheimer’s.
