Kern County firefighters are hosting two meetings Saturday to get Lake Isabella residents ready for the coming rainy season.
Engineer Anthony Romero believes a snowy or wet winter could trigger mudslides in areas affected by the Erskine and Cedar Fires and make help hard to come by. Romero says they want to avoid the problems caused by the mudslides that damaged dozens of homes after the 2008 Piute Fire.
The meetings will be held at these locations and times:
Lake Isabella Senior Center, 64056 Lake Isabella Blvd. in Lake Isabella at 10:00a.m.
Faith Community Church, 20 Panorama Dr., in Wofford Heights at 1:30p.m.
