Newly released court documents reveal details about the east Bakersfield man accused of killing his girlfriend and baby.He is accused of cutting their full term baby from her womb was holding the child outside his car during a chase with deputies. The documents also say that Manuel Vela used his son as a shield after he crashed near East High School on Saturday then threw the baby on the ground before running away. The coroner says Katrina Rivera and her son died of asphyxiation.
