The coroner is saying double-homicide suspect Manuel Vela died by hanging himself in his Lerdo jail cell. The 28-year-old man charged with killing his girlfriend and cutting a baby from her womb was found unresponsive in his cell last Saturday afternoon. Vela had admitted to the crime in jailhouse interviews and said the devil told him to kill.
