A two alarm fire in Taft has destroyed two homes and damaged a third, and one family also lost three dogs.

First arriving crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from two small wood frame houses Tuesday night on Woodrow Street at 3rd Street, and outside items likes fences were also burning. The fire has caused $125,000 in damage and how it got started is being investigated.
