A former part-time music instructor at Bakersfield College who pleaded no contest to a sex act with an underage student has been sentenced to one year in jail and five years probation.

Police say 28-year-old Andrew Hubbard met the girl when he taught the school’s Golden Empire Drum and Bugle Corps but the tryst happened off campus.
