NO FEE FOR HART PARK

Supervisors are not going through with a plan to charge for parking at Hart Park.A long line of people showed up Tuesday to voice opposition to a parking fee at the park in northeast Bakersfield. The extensive discussion inspired Supervisor Mick Gleason to ask for a comprehensive solution that will deal with all the county parks, not just the one. Gleason says he would support charging $5 for parking if there’s no other way, but believes there are plenty of ideas for better options. Staff, the Parks Commission and the public will craft a plan and return to the Board in three months.
