SUPERVISORS PRAISE SPENDING CUTS

Supervisors are thanking department heads for their hard work finding new ways to reduce spending.

At the second of three midyear budget hearings, chairman Zack Scrivner said county administrator Ryan Alsop was forging ahead to deal with $80 million in lost oil tax revenues.

Probation, the Sheriff’s Office, and the Public Defender were among those laying out plans at Monday’s special session. The District Attorney, Public Health, and Planning were up last week.

The hearings resume Tuesday morning at 9:00.
