Bakersfield CHP officers are showing off their huge new facility that’s strategically placed along Southbound 99 and Taft Hwy. That’s about nine miles south of the old office on Buck Owens Blvd. Captain Ron Seldon says they can host 100 officers at any time and ramp up for major deployments anywhere in the state. The 43-hundred square foot main building has a state-of-the-art communication center, the massive communication tower is easily seen from the freeway.
