Bakersfield Congressman Kevin McCarthy is responding to critics who are calling on him to hold a town hall meeting.

The House Majority Leaders tells KUZZ News he does not want to hold an auditorium event because they have been turning into unproductive screaming matches. McCarthy says constituents who want to discuss issues should call his office to arrange a meeting.

Those who want a town hall with McCarthy walked through his neighborhood last night in a peaceful demonstration.
