The Kern County Probation Office in east Bakersfield had to be evacuated for two hours after an employee spotted a suspicious package inside the building.

Bakersfield Police Sergeant Ryan Kroeker says they called in the bomb squad in case the threat turned out to be real. Employees were allowed to go back to work at the office on Baker Street and East Truxtun Avenue once the all clear was given around 3:30 Monday afternoon.
