A local bike repair program is giving job skills to homeless people and those in transitional housing.

Recycle A Bike teaches volunteers how to fix old two-wheelers, and Bike Bakersfield Program Manager Adam Kahler [kay-ler] says trainees are able to take home a bike at the end of it to use or sell.

It takes each volunteer 20 hours to complete the program. All bikes are donated from the community, and 200 were fixed last year.
