DA HELPS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS GET RESTRAINING ORDERS

The District Attorney’s office has launched a series of free events to help domestic violence victims protect themselves from their attackers.

Program Coordinator Linda Finnerty says they started the Domestic Violence Restraining Order Clinic after seeing women struggle to fill out legal paperwork to get a restraining order on their own.

The clinics are held every Wednesday morning starting March 15th at the Victim Services Unit in downtown Bakersfield. Men and women who want to attend can call 661-868-2400 to make an appointment.
