The Delano man convicted of killing his 88-year-old landlord has been sentenced to 25-years-to-life in prison.

John Galafate strangled World War II veteran and well loved local barber John Espinoza in 2013, then put the body in the trunk of a car and sunk it into a canal.

Galafate claimed Espinoza died during a fight over unpaid rent.
