LOCAL RELIEF OVER HEALTH BILL FAILURE

Republicans in Congress have pulled their plan to repeal and replace The Affordable Care Act.That’s welcome news to local supporters of Obamacare. Clinica Sierra Vista CEO Steven Schilling says the replacement plan was not well thought out, but he realizes changes must still be made. He says large companies have been given exemptions from providing coverage for employees and that should not have happened under the ACA. However, the American Health Care Act divided up risk groups which he says makes premiums too expensive for high-risk populations. Schilling will be heading to Washington next week to meet with the Valley’s congressional members, offering to help them craft a plan that would be fair and affordable to everyone.
