There are new rules about defensible space from fire hazards heading into this year’s fire season. Supervisors passed an ordinance this month requiring fire hazards be reduced by June 1st with the property owners being given 15 days to prove compliance after being cited. Fines double this year to $500 for a first violation, $1,000 for a second.
