Local representatives for the California State Teachers of the Year program have been chosen.The pair were selected from among 54 nominees. Tuesday’s ceremony at the Kern Art Museum named Kristina Merrick of Casa Loma Elementary in Bakersfield and Mojave Elementary’s Lisa Massee has the top teachers. They next advance to the finals for State Teachers of the Year.
