Two Kern County Deputies have pleaded guilty to drug charges in a case linked to disgraced Bakersfield police detectives. Logan August and Derrick Penney are due in federal court May 15th for sentencing, likely getting the same 5 years as BPD detectives Patrick Mara and Damacio Diaz. Court records show the four lawmen conspired to steal and sell marijuana from evidence lockers. The deputies had previously resigned from the Sheriff’s office.
