The State Attorney General has given a title and summary for an initiative to give Californians a constitutional right to gender identity. It would allow people free exercise of gender identity and prohibit the legislature from making laws to restrict gender definitions. It would also prohibit identity from being a reason not to consider someone competent in court to be a witness or juror. Signatures are being collected to put it on the November 2018 ballot.
