RESOURCE REPLACES FOSTER TERM

May is National Foster Care Awareness Month and Kern County Human Services wants to find people willing to help children in need. One thing to be aware of is that foster care is now called Resource Parents in our state. Foster parents had low levels of training, relatives taking a child in had almost none and only those seeking adoption had the most rigorous instruction. All are now considered Resource Parents and all have the same extensive level of training, People are being encouraged to can sign up to help without any long-term obligation if it’s not a fit for them.
