MORE MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN

The County has approved a big sewer rate increase for homes in unincorporated areas. Tuesday’s Supervisors vote hikes the monthly fee from $162 to $275, and Public Works Director Craig Pope says the steep increase is in line with what other sewer districts in the Valley are charging. The increase takes effect in June and is the first rate hike in 11 years for the Kern Sanitation District.
