Business owners discussed how state oil taxes are affecting the ag industry during the Fuel Cost Forum in downtown Bakersfield.

Many farmers at Friday’s event worried that a 20% spike in diesel taxes this year will make their products uncompetitive and force small farms to sell out to big conglomerates.

Attendees want to put together a Central Valley lobbying group to fight the fees in Sacramento.
