HOTEL ROBBER CONVICTED OF ATTEMPTED MURDER

A Bakersfield man has been convicted of attempted murder for firing at the man he was trying to rob on Union Avenue.

Deputy D.A. Marcus Cuper says they thought another person had pulled the trigger at the Tropicana Hotel last August but Robert Thrower, Jr. kept pointing to himself, admitting guilt in court and getting fingered by his two accomplices.

Those other men testified against him as part of a plea deal. Thrower faces 38 years to life in prison at his sentencing next month.
