Two former Kern County deputies have pleaded guilty in federal court in Fresno for stealing and selling seized marijuana. Derrick Penney and Logan August conspired with Bakersfield police detectives to raid the evidence rooms and sell the pot. The pair face up to five years in prison when sentenced August 7th, former detectives Patrick Mara and Damacio Diaz got five years each in the case.
