A Bakersfield man has been convicted in the brutal death of his infant son. Deputy DA Gina Pearl says 22-year-old Stepfon Jones was found guilty of second-degree murder Monday for the August 2015 death of 4-month-old Stepfon Jones, Jr. who was brutally killed because the baby was crying. Jones shook the child violently, threw him on the floor and then kicked him into a wall. Pearl says he has previous convictions of violence against his girlfriend and elder abuse, now his victims are children. Jones faces 25-years-to-life when sentenced in June, he was also convicted of cruelty to a child because a 2-year-old sister witnessed the killing.
