A Bakersfield man is under arrest for assaulting the officer who was trying to handcuff him.

Police were called to Saunders Park on Palm Street Saturday night after someone saw Keiwan Washington walking away from a car with a handgun. BPD found the loaded, stolen gun in the car after taking down Washington.

He also faces conspiracy and gang charges.
