An elderly woman has died after driving into a power pole at the intersection of Planz and Stine roads.The accident happened in southwest Bakersfield. Police are unsure why the woman veered her minivan over the curb at 1:40 Wednesday afternoon. She died at a hospital shortly afterwards and her name has not been released, a passenger in the van was unhurt.
