The Community Action Partnership of Kern has handed out their 2017 Humanitarian Awards. Mayor Karen Goh was named Humanitarian of the Year at the awards banquet at the Double Tree in Bakersfield, and the Kern County Fair is the Community Partner of the Year. The Fair had a free entry day last year for those who donated food items.
