Caltrans is sending a lot of money to Kern County for repairs and upgrades. More than $3-million will go for upgrading water systems at the Buttonwillow Interstate 5 rest stops, and $17-million in work is being done on electrical and irrigation systems on State Highways. The projects are considered top priorities.
