A family of three has been displaced after their Oildale home caught fire.

Kern County firefighters say the house on Linda Vista Drive just off North Chester Avenue did not have a smoke detector and that the residents woke up at 5:00 Monday morning choking on smoke. All three refused treatment.

Damage is estimated at $60,000.
