A grass fire in the hills above Lake Ming northeast of Bakersfield burned 506 acres over the weekend before it was stopped.

It began as a two-acre fire near Round Mountain and Eastmont roads around 2:30 Saturday afternoon. Full containment was reached late that same night and no structures were damaged.
