The Kern Education Justice Collaborative is hosting a series of workshops to show parents how to get involved in funding plans for schools. The Local Control and Accountability Plan requires districts take public input to get state funding, and Gerald Cantu of the Collaborative says the process needs moms and dads to step up. Workshops in Bakersfield and Arvin are being held in the evening with dinner and childcare provided. All sessions run from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
