Bakersfield’s new professional baseball team will have their first ever at-bats Thursday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark.

The Train Robbers are part of the independent Pecos League, meaning they are not linked to any major league clubs like the former Bakersfield Blaze was. The Blaze was moved to the east coast less than a year ago.

First pitch against the Monterey Amber Jacks is at 6:45.
