The County Planning Commission took comments about energy policy during the latest workshop on updating the General Plan.

Thursday night’s session included Craig Murphy of the Planning Department, who proposed solar energy have its own zoning ordinance so each project doesn’t have to come up with a separate environmental impact report. Others asked the board to come up with a plan to fight climate change.

The General Plan is a guideline for development that cities and counties update in accordance with state law.
