Kern County firefighters spent the night monitoring a pile of burning pallets and other ag products in a field off Calloway Drive and 7th Standard Road in northwest Bakersfield.

Social media lit up around 9:00 Wednesday night when the flames broke out with people wondering what was going on. The one acre fire could be seen for miles.
