CAL FIRE FUNDS TREES

Cal Fire has awarded the Tree Foundation of Kern $193-thousand to begin replacing trees killed by the drought. The planting of 913 trees will be around Bakersfield starting in October when the weather is cooler, and locations will include parks and high schools. Many of the new trees will be maple and Chinese Pistache because maple process greenhouse gases well and the other is drought and heat resistant.
